Where was Queen Charlotte filmed? The Palace & all the Locations

The spin-off from the popular historical romance series, Queen Charlotte was, with a few exceptions, filmed on same locations of Bridgerton in England.

In the six-episode series, we are introduced to Charlotte as a young princess from a German noble family, who embarks on a journey to England to marry the future King George III (played by Corey Mylchreest).

The Queen Charlotte Locations

Untere Schloss Mirow
The Untere Schloss in Mirow, Northern Germany, was filmed at the historic Ditton Manor in Berkshire.

Dating back to the 14th century, this stately house features the picturesque moat and bridge seen in the series.

Gothic cloisters Wilton House
But this interior vaulted corridor is the Gothic Revival cloister of Wilton House in Wiltshire, near Salisbury.

The seat of the Earls of Pembroke for the last four centuries is considered one of the finest country houses in England.

Windsor Great Park
The scenes in the countryside were filmed at Windsor Great Park in Berkshire.

This historic park is home to majestic deer herds and is one of Queen Elizabeth II's favorite retreats.

The Queen Charlotte palace

Queen Charlotte Palace
The Buckingham House is actually an amalgam of several locations.

The facade of the royal residence is the stunning Blenheim Palace in Woodstock, Oxfordshire.

Blenheim Palace interior
Many interiors were also filmed at Blenheim Palace, including the Great Hall.

Built in the early 18th century, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of England's largest mansions.


Syon House library
In the short sequence at Buckingham House at the beginning of the first episode, Charlotte actually visits many different places.

Double Cube Room
The Double Cube Room at the Wilton House is the monumental landmark that also appears as the castle in Germany at the beginning of the episode.

The Wilton House served as the Tomb Raider mansion in the 2018 movie, and has also been featured in The Crown, The Young Victoria, and Outlander.

Queen Charlotte Buckingham House
The Great Staircase is the King’s Staircase at Hampton Court Palace, located 12 miles southwest of central London on the River Thames.

The walls, depicting mythological and historical figures, were painted around 1700 by the Italian Baroque painter Antonio Verrio.

Where is Queen Charlotte filmed
The dining hall is The Saloon also at Blenheim Palace.

The walls and ceilings were painted by the French decorative artist Louis Laguerre.


Even Days
The gardens with the monumental fountain are also located at Blenheim Palace.

The party in the last episode, "Crown Jewels", was also filmed here.


Belton House Orangery
The glass house is the Belton House Orangery in Lincolnshire.

Built in the 17th century, this property features meticulously landscaped gardens and exquisite architecture.

Queen to Be
The funeral scene in the first episode, "Queen to Be", was filmed at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich.

The ensemble of buildings at Maritime Greenwich is a popular tourist attraction and filming location for hundreds of productions, including The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Pirates of the Caribbean, and most recently, The Diplomat series.

Honeymoon Bliss
Royal servants deliver wedding invitations at Bath's iconic Palladian Royal Crescent.

Completed in 1774, the 30 terraced houses with 114 columns that make up this famous landmark are arranged in an arc to form a crescent.

Danbury House
Danbury House, which also appears in Bridgerton as a coaching inn, is Dorney Court, a nearly 600-year-old Tudor manor house in Buckinghamshire.

St James’s Palace
Like in Bridgerton, St. James's Palace is primarily Hampton Court Palace in East Molesey, although some interior scenes were filmed at Wilton House and Syon House.

Merton College Chapel
George and Charlotte's wedding was filmed at the Merton College Chapel in Oxford.

This 13th-century masterpiece of Gothic architecture has preserved its collection of medieval glass almost intact.

This location was also featured in the 2023 Saltburn house movie.

Honeymoon Bliss
The garden scenes were filmed at Hatfield House, the magnificent Jacobean-style estate that we've seen in many productions, including The Great, Fast and Furious, and Taboo, to name a few.

Some of the interior scenes set in Buckingham House were also filmed in the elegant rooms of Hatfield House.

Ledger House
The Ledger's home is Firle Place in Sussex, an elegant manor house dating back to the late 15th century.

George's astronomical observatory
It looks like the exterior of George's astronomical observatory was CGI'd into the scene, and the interior was probably filmed on a soundstage in the studios.


Lady Danbury estate
Lady Danbury's residence is the Holburne Museum of Art in Bath.

Housed in the former Sydney Hotel in the heart of Bath, the museum boasts an impressive collection of fine art and decorative arts spanning several centuries.

Queen Charlotte church
You may have seen the interior of Westminster Abbey during the coronation of King Charles.

However, in Queen Charlotte, this scene was created entirely using CGI instead of filming on location.

Holding the King
The Royal College of Physicians in the fourth episode, "Holding the King", was filmed at the Queen’s House Great Hall in Greenwich.

The Queen’s House is the white cube between the two buildings of the Old Royal Naval College.

Belton House
The splendid facade of the Belton House also appears in the fourth and fifth episodes.


Queen Charlotte Eine Bridgerton-Geschichte drehorte
The opera house in the fifth episode, "Gardens in Bloom", is the Hackney Empire Theatre on Mare Street in London.

Although it looks older, this venue was built in 1901 in the Victorian Baroque Revival style.
