The series revolves around an American au pair, Danielle Clayton. She is hired to take care of two orphaned children, Flora and Miles, living in an opulent old mansion situated in the fictional town of Bly in Essex, England.

The Haunting of Bly Manor Location Of course, the house will contain crawling ghosts, a creepy cellar, and a mysterious off-limits old wing.

Bly Manor feels like the second season of Hill House as most of the cast is returning, but the stories are not connected. The Haunting of Bly Manor was filmed in and around Vancouver. Here is our spoiler-free filming locations guide:

Where was The Haunting of Bly Manor filmed?

Bly Manor House The producers didn't go too far from Vancouver to find inspiration: As highlighted by Refinery29, Bly Manor looks very much like Thornewood Castle in Lakewood near Seattle, Washington estate.

Completed in 1911, this English Tudor-Gothic mansion is barely a hundred years old. However, his owner Chester Thorne purchased a real 400-year-old Elizabethan stately home in England.

He dismantled it and shipped the bricks and large sections of the structure to the West Coast to incorporate them into the new house. The interiors and the staircase are also covered in oak paneling, but no filming for the series took place on this 27,000 square foot property.

Thornewood Castle garden Thornewood is now a bed and breakfast with a gorgeous statue garden, where you can book a perfectly splendid suite.

Instead of a pond, this house is located just 200 feet from the American Lake (yep, not the most original name).

A few remarkable productions were actually filmed here, including the 2008 Oscar award-winning film There Will Be Blood with Daniel Day-Lewis and the 2002 ABC series written by Stephen King Rose Red.

The main hall The interiors, including all the rooms and corridors of the Bly Manor, were built at Bridge Studios in Burnaby.

The facade and the small chapel in the garden don't exist. Many exterior scenes were shot using green screens and completed in post-production using CGI effects.

According to a film notice posted on Twitter, the crew was shooting three daylight scenes in the open area east of Boundary Rd Lot at Burnaby's Central Park (where is the Lower Pond), and one night scene in the forest off of the main path, closer to the south end playground.

Also, Netflix listed the property in Zillow, although you can't buy the estate, it's off-market.

Poppins in the restaurant The pub where Danielle (Victoria Pedretti) gets drunk with Henry Wingrave (Henry Thomas) after the interview is The Irish Heather.

This classic gastropub is located at 210 Carrall St in Gastown (Vancouver). Henry's office is the ugly glass-steel-concrete United Kingdom Building on a corner at 409 Granville Street with West Hastings Street.

Scene in London The scene where Owen (Rahul Kohli) picks up Dani in London was filmed near the Lamplighter Public House in Abbott Street, also in Gastown.

This is the same spot where Peter Quint (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) picks up Rebecca Jessel (Tahirah Sharif) in the third episode.

Bly Manor Haus Drehort The accident in the fourth episode was filmed in Moncton St near the Steveston Village area in Richmond.

This beautiful fishing town has been featured in many productions including Once Upon a Time, Nancy Drew, or Virgin River, just to name a few.

Owen restaurant in Paris The exterior of the restaurant in Paris called A better Place is actually located in the Frech capital.

In real life, this is Au Chai de l'Abbaye, situated in the centric 6th arrondissement.
