Where is Good Omens filmed? Tadfield & all the Filming Locations

Now back for the second season, Good Omens was primarily filmed in and around London. Much of the action takes place in the fictional, quaint British town of Tadfield.

The show is based on the hilarious fantasy book by Terry Pratchett, the brilliant author of the Discworld saga, and Neil Gaiman, the creator of American Gods.

The story follows an angel and a demon who have been on Earth since the beginning of time.

After becoming accustomed to the planet, they team up to find the Antichrist and prevent the apocalypse from unfolding.

Where the hell (and heaven) is Good Omens filmed?

Tadfield Good Omens
Tadfield is the fictional town near Oxford, where the birthing hospital of the incompetent Satanic Order of Chattering Nuns is located.

Several scenes set in the village were filmed in Hambleden, a small and beautiful village in Buckinghamshire.

This is the same location as the hotel and the house featured in The Dig movie, starring Ralph Fiennes and Carey Mulligan.

Good Omens House
Adam's family home is located in a small settlement on the outskirts of Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire.

Tadfield Manor
The British nunnery Tadfield Manor, run by The Chattering Order of St. Beryl, is the Bulstrode Park mansion in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire.

This large 17th-century English country house was also featured in the Jack Ryan series.

Aziraphale's Bookshop in Soho
The British Cinematographer revealed that the London's Soho street and Aziraphale's Bookshop are a set built on the Bovingdon Airfield Studios.

Where is Tadfield
Angel and Demon use St. James's Park near Buckingham Palace for their meetings, as if they were Cold War era spies.

Some more obvious locations are the Houses of Parliament in Westminster.

Crystal Palace Dinosaurs
At the end of the first episode, "In the Beginning", it appears a not-so-obvious spot. There is a short scene featuring the Crystal Palace Dinosaurs in the London Borough of Bromley.

Escalators Good Omens
The hall of the building where both Heaven and Hell headquarters are located, with the iconic escalators, was filmed at The Broadgate Tower entrance in the City of London.

Llandudno Rock Villa
The rock house 11 years ago in the second episode, "The Book", is the Llandudno Rock Villa perched on a dramatic cliff near the Cape Peninsula outside of Cape Town, in South Africa.

Built around the iconic massive granite boulder, you can rent this luxurious four-bedroom villa for about US$1,500 per night.

Hogback Wood
Hogback Wood, the playground of the Antichrist and friends on the outskirts of Tadfield, was filmed at Painshill Park in Cobham, Surrey.

In the same episode, Aziraphale and Crowley meet at Antonella's Cafe Bistro at 111 High Street in Penge, London.

Shakespeare's Globe Theatre
The Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London doubles as itself in the third episode, "Hard Times".

This renowned and iconic playhouse of the Elizabethan era, played a pivotal role in the staging of William Shakespeare's timeless masterpieces.

The Very Last Day of the Rest of Their Lives
The gazebo in the third episode is located in Battersea Park in the London Borough of Wandsworth.

The Happy Porker Cafe
In episode five, "The Doomsday Option", there is a scene where the Horsemen arrive at the Happy Porker Cafe.

This is actually The Old School Cafe located on the corner of Longcross Road and Accommodation Road near Chobham.

RAF Upper Heyford film location
The air force base station is RAF Upper Heyford, a disused US airbase in Oxfordshire where the new Mission Impossible - Dead Reckoning movie filmed some scenes.

Tavistock Square Gardens scene
Before heading to the restaurant at the end of the final episode, "The Very Last Day of the Rest of Their Lives", the duo meets at Tavistock Square Gardens in Bloomsbury, London.

Several car sequences were also filmed at West London Studios.

The second season was primarily filmed in Scotland.

This time, the busy street in London's Soho where the A.Z Feel and Co. Bookshop, the Small Back Room record store, the Dirty Donkey Pub, and the Give me Coffe or Give me Death coffee shop are located were built on a soundstage at the Pyramids Business Park in Bathgate.

The Arrival
This cobblestoned street is the picturesque Circus Lane located in the Stockbridge neighborhood of Edinburgh.

I Know Where I'm Going
The night scenes in 19th-century Edinburgh, from the third episode, "I Know Where I'm Going", were filmed at Stirling Castle and Broad Street.

The graveyard was filmed in Stirling's Old Town Cemetery.

The Resurrectionist pub
The Cask and Barrel pub on Edinburgh's West Preston Street served as The Resurrectionist pub.

The previous scene, in which Aziraphale arrives in the city in the elegant Bentley was filmed on Victoria Street.

TAG
The Windmill Theater in 1941 London in the fourth episode, "The Hitchhiker", is the Hippodrome Cinema in Bo'ness, Scotland.

This is one of the earliest examples of a purpose-built cinema and is believed to be the oldest surviving building of its kind in Scotland.

Good Omens season two
The Amazon Studios and BBC co-production stars by Michael Sheen (Masters Of Sex, Passengers) as the angel Aziraphale and David Tennant (Broadchurch, Doctor Who) as the demon Crowley.

Completing the main cast are Adria Arjona (Anathema Device), Jon Hamm (Archangel Gabriel), Nina Sosanya (Sister Mary Loquacious), Anna Maxwell Martin (Beelzebub), Jack Whitehall (Newton Pulsifer), and Sam Taylor Buck (Adam, the reluctant Antichrist).

  2. Ep 5, where the Horsemen meet is The Old School cafe on the corner of Longcross Road and Accommodation Road, Chobham. Inside is a studio set.

  8. The final scene with the nightingale was also filmed in Tavistock Square. It's a lovely part of London and in the enctre of the square is a monument to Ghandi (you can just see it in the background at one point of the A/C scene.

  11. Hambleden, pretty village, also used for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (the wind mill) Vicar of Dibley, Killing Eve. Nice pub also...

  12. The last picture above is of Bulstrode Park Gerrards Cross. The scenes of the paintball sequence are all there. I lived there as a child in the 60's.
