Where was Elle filmed? The high school, the house, and all the locations

Set in 1995 between Los Angeles and Seattle, Elle was also filmed in and around Vancouver in British Columbia.

The prequel to the popular Reese Witherspoon movies, also titled From the World of Legally Blonde, follows a teenage Elle Woods, played by Lexi Minetree.

The Elle house

Elle house
The Woods mansion in Los Angeles is the house where Michael Jackson passed away at 100 North Carolwood Drive in the Holmby Hills neighborhood.

This eight-bedroom French château-style estate, built in 2002, boasts a movie theater, a wine cellar, and a the large pool and gardens featured in the series on roughly 1.26 acres.

After the King of Pop’s passing in 2009, the property had a bit of stigma and owners couldn’t sell it until 2012.

Today it holds an estimated market price of around 22 million dollars.

Elle and her friends are shopping at the famous Rodeo Drive, one of the world's most famous luxury shopping streets, located in the heart of Beverly Hills.

Elle Legally Blonde house
As it happens often with productions set in Seattle, including the 2026 Amazon series Every Year After, shooting took place a bit more up north, in the Vancouver area.

The new home in Seattle is the historic estate 1389 The Crescent in the Shaughnessy neighborhood.

Built in 1913, this five-bedroom Tudor-style mansion, with 11,000 square feet spread across four stories, also includes a beautiful outdoor pool.

The Rainier West High School in Elle

Rainier West High School
Point Grey Secondary School in Kerrisdale, Vancouver, doubles as the Rainier West High School in Seattle.

Completed in 1929, the building features Gothic pointed arches and decorative stone detailing inspired by the historic universities of Oxford and Cambridge.

Some episodes of the popular The CW Riverdale series were also filmed here.

Beverly Hills Hotel on Sunset Boulevard
In the second episode, "No Silly, I Go Here", Madison is at the iconic The Beverly Hills Hotel on Sunset Boulevard.

Opened in 1912, this hotel, nicknamed "The Pink Palace," was designed in the Mediterranean Revival style and features lush tropical gardens and elegant bungalows.

Pike Place Market Seattle
Seattle's Pike Place Market, one of the oldest continuously operating public markets in the country, has been operating since 1907.

Overlooking Elliott Bay in downtown Seattle, this historic market is known for its fresh seafood and is home to the original Starbucks store.

Cinerama Dome Sunset Boulevard
In the third episode, "You're Not the Girl I Thought You Were," Madison is at the famous Cinerama Dome on LA's Sunset Boulevard.

Opened in 1963, this landmark movie theater in Hollywood is known for its iconic geodesic dome structure.

The Twilight Zone house
The 'pool party' house, also featured in an episode of The Twilight Zone, is also located somewhere in the Vancouver area.


Cross Country District Championships
The Cross Country District Championships scene in the fourth episode, "I'm Not Afraid Of A Challenge", was filmed at Central Park, a large urban park located on the border between Vancouver and Burnaby.

Rainforest Cafe Ontario Mills
The Rainforest Cafe in the fifth episode, "Trust Me, I Can Handle Anything", has to be the one in Ontario Mills, California.

This themed restaurant chain recreates the atmosphere of a tropical rainforest through immersive décor and has been expanding to a few locations across the USA and Europe since 1994.

Mine and Yours Vancouver
In the final episode, "What, Like It's Hard", Elle and her friends are shopping on Rodeo Drive, but the interior of the store was filmed at the Mine & Yours shop in Downtown Vancouver.
