Where was Percy Jackson filmed? The Camp Half-Blood and all the locations

Based on the popular six fantasy novels of the same name by Riordan, Percy Jackson and the Olympians was filmed in and around Vancouver, British Columbia.

In the story, Percy finds himself at Camp Half-Blood, a refuge tailored for the offspring of Greek deities who are demigods.

Camp Half-Blood

Walker Scobell from The Adam Project stars as the central character, a demigod offspring of Poseidon. Joining him are his best friends Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth and Aryan Simhadri as Grover.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians location
In the first episode, "I Accidentally Vaporize My Pre-Algebra Teacher", Percy goes on a field trip to the iconic Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

However, this scene was filmed on The Volume, the new set at Mammoth Studios in Burnaby, which consists of projecting 3D images onto ultra-high-definition screens.

I Become Supreme Lord of the Bathroom
This new technology called Stagecraft was created by Industrial Light and Magic for The Mandalorian series.

Anyway, the Percy Jackson and the Olympians the world premiere of Percy Jackson and the Olympians was held at the Met on December 5, 2023.


Yancy Academy
The Yancy Academy was filmed at Hycroft Manor, home of the University Women's Club of Vancouver at 1489 McRae Avenue in Vancouver West.

Completed in 1911, this elegant historic mansion boasts stunning architecture and serves as a venue for various events and cultural activities.

The Camp Half-Blood location

Camp Half-Blood location
As Hollywood North Buzz reported, the scenes on the shores of the Camp Half-Blood, in the story situated in Long Island, were filmed at Minaty Bay.

Minaty Bay is located on the shores of Howe Sound near Britannia Beach, in the Sea-to-Sky Corridor region.

We Visit the Garden Gnome Emporium
But also some of the sets of the camp, including the cabins and the archery range, were filmed on private property outside of Aldergrove.

As you can imagine, many of the elements of the set, such as the waterfall and the theater, CGI'd into the scene.

Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge
The hanging bridge looks like the Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge located in the Sea-to-Sky Gondola area near Squamish.

Many productions hosted in the Vancouver area, including Virgin River, have been filmed here.

We Visit the Garden Gnome Emporium
In the third episode, "We Visit the Garden Gnome Emporium," Percy, Annabeth, and Grover embark on a cross-country bus trip.

The Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan was filmed on West Hastings and Hornby Streets in Vancouver's Financial District.

But as you can see in this Twitter video, there's so much CGI that this location is very hard to recognize.

Ricky's All Day Grill restaurant Hope
Before meeting Medusa (played brilliantly by Jessica Parker Kennedy), they stop at a gas station.

This scene was filmed at the Esso next to the Ricky's All Day Grill restaurant in Hope, BC.

Empire State Building as Mount Olympus
The Empire State Building gate was a set built on the facade of the Palate Kitchen restaurant at 848 West Hastings Street.

This is almost the same location where was filmed the bus terminal scene in this episode.

The Gateway Arch Percy Jackson
In the fourth episode, "I Plunge to My Death", the trio visits The Gateway Arch monument in St Louis, Missouri.

Completed in 1965, the stainless steel arch stands 630 feet tall, standing as a symbol of America's westward expansion.

Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology Burnaby
However, these scenes were recorded in a virtual environment in the studios mixed with footage filmed at the Simon Fraser University in Burnaby.

The museum and the round fountain were filmed between the Transportation Centre and the Starbucks on the university campus.

A God Buys Us Cheeseburgers
After the dive, the scene at the beginning of the fifth episode, "A God Buys Us Cheeseburgers," was filmed at Westminster Pier Park in New Westminster.

Wheelz restaurant
The diner where Ares offers help if Percy and Annabeth retrieve his shield from Waterland is the old Michael's Family Restaurant or Wheelz Restaurant in Deroche, BC.
