The amoral practices of a big pharmaceutical company trigger this tragic story of revenge, about a family stricken by cancer and the violence resulting from capitalist greed.

Sweet Girl was filmed in and around Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the same city where this action thriller flick with a twist is set.

Sweet Girl Filming Locations

Jason Aquaman Momoa, who is back for the second season of the See series on Apple TV+, stars in the movie as survival expert Ray Cooper.

His rebellious daughter Rachel is played by Isabela Merced (Transformers: The Last Knight, Sicario: Day of the Soldado). The duo is confronted by hitman Amo Santos played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo. The main cast is completed by Lex Scott Davis as FBI Agent Sarah Meeker.

Here is our sugar-free guide to the shooting locations of Sweet Girl.

The Sweet Girl Filming Locations

The family's flashback scene set some years earlier, taking place in a beautiful forest with lush vegetation, was filmed at Bilger's Rocks near Grampian in Clearfield County.

Covered with moss and set amongst the woods, this awe-inspiring section of the Appalachian mountain range looks like the exotic tropical rainforests of East Asia.

Sweet Girl house
As IMDb reported, the exterior of the Cooper family's house is located at 1902 Webster Avenue in Hill District, a historic African American neighborhood.

The mythical 80s series, Hill Street Blues, set in an unnamed city in the Midwest, was filmed in Los Angeles, but it was possibly named after the district.

The towers in the background are the BNY Mellon Center and the US Steel Tower skyscraper.

Gateway Station Mural
The first subway station scene was filmed at Gateway Station, easy to recognize because it is home to the 60-foot ceramic tile mural Pittsburgh Recollections.

The 780-piece artwork by artist Romare Bearden was first installed in 1984 at the original Gateway Center T station.

Valued at $15 million, the mural was removed before the old station was demolished. After a long restoration process, the enormous piece was reassembled at the new station, reopened in 2012.

The bridge and the tunnel connecting Layton with Perryopolis over the Youghiogheny River were originally constructed for the railroad, abandoned in 1931, and rehabilitated in 1984.

This spot also served as a filming location for the 1991 movie, starring Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins, The Silence of the Lambs.

Allegheny County Courthouse
The final fight was filmed at Allegheny County Courthouse. The fountain of this monumental Romanesque Revival-style building is situated in the interior courtyard of this 1888 complex.
