These scenes recorded on billionaire Charles Cavendish's yacht are set in Malaga, in the south of Spain.

However, Malaga was actually filmed in the charming town of Santa Margherita Ligure.

This lovely village is located in the heart of the Italian Riviera, near the scenic harbor of Portofino and half an hour's drive from the city of Genoa.

The sequences taking place during the Monaco-Grand Prix celebration were filmed in the Porta Venezia area in Via Lazzaro Spallanzani, Milano.

As you can see, the Monte Carlo hills in the background were added via CGI.

Lake Como Movie Netflix
The night in Monte Carlo was also filmed in Milan, in the Hotel Principe di Savoia.

This classic resort is an exquisite treasure that reflects the old Grand Hotel splendor from a bygone era, like the Curon Hotel featured in the Italian Netflix series.

The bar scene, pictured, was filmed at the elegant Da Giacomo restaurant at 6 Via Pasquale Sottocorno, also in Milano.

The car chase sequence starring the flashy Ferrari Testarossa was filmed along state road 340 on the western shore of the lake.

The shoot took place in the villages of Torriggia, Laglio, Carate Urio, Moltrasio, and Argegno.

The scene ends up back in Como, near the Tempio Voltiano museum. If you travel here don't look for the statue, it was part of the set.

Don't try to find the postcard-perfect, idyllic landscape depicted in this movie screenshot: There is no such place.

Italy is a gorgeous country, but this image was entirely generated by CGI.

However, this composition seems to be inspired by the Bernina Express.

This panoramic train runs along the World Heritage Site known as the Rhaetian Railway in the Albula - Bernina section of the Alps, from Thusis in Switzerland to Tirano in Italy.

  1. The gorgeous bay at min 17.12 is located in Sestri Levante, and it pictures the ‘silence bay’ and the ‘fairy tales’ bay’ :)

  2. I think that the last landscape was inspired in the Bernina Express Train, that in fact it's near Lake Como.

  3. The car chase scene at 15.30 mins before the end, is in Domaso, the corner along Via Regina Levante where it meets the end of the little street of Via Regina. We stayed in a holiday appartment on Via Regina a few months ago and recognised the location instantly. It is very beautiful there!

  5. The village you see from the window of the Orient Express is Gandria on the swiss side of beautiful Lake Lugano (the one between Lake Como and Lake Maggiore).

  6. Thanks for the list! About the last pic: it seems a collage of different sights especially in Switzerland: Landwasserviadukt (across this lake - in fact it's across a gorge). Acutally the whole Postcard Trainride is this part of the Albula Line in Filisur. But the Orient Express wouldn't fit on the narrow 1m guage, it was fotoshopped in. Also the landscape in the background is the Bernina Massiv 50km south east of the spot (several vallies further away). The villages are photoshopped in as well, but also in Canton Graubünden as most of the used pics in the collage. The one above is Soglio I would say, 20km up the river from Lake Como. The only thing I don't know is the lakeside villa. Probably on Lake Como somewhere. It looks like one of the Lago Maggiore islands but it's not.
