Filming locations Guide: Where was Shazam filmed?

Who doesn't want to be a superhero? Shazam! is the story of a kid who becomes a superhero but also he becomes an adult, ending up being super-confused and lost.

The 'Champion of Eternity' movie is a funny parody of classical characters like Batman and Superman, taking place in the DC Extended Universe.

Where is the real Fawcett City? Shazam! was filmed in and around Toronto in Canada, although the movie is set in Philadelphia.

The comedy stars Zachary Levi as Shazam and the teenage boy Billy Batson is played by Asher Angel. The main cast is completed by Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy, Mark Strong as Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, and Djimon Hounsou as the ancient wizard.

Shazam Locations

All the establishing shots and the skyline views of the city where the adventures of Shazam take place are from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the Mare of Easttown location.

Billy's High School exteriors were filmed at Danforth Collegiate and Technical Institute located in Toronto's Greek neighborhood.

The orphanage was set in the Newman Centre, in the University of Toronto.

The robbery in a convenience store was recorded in a Busy Bee Food Mart at 524 Barton Street East in Hamilton.

The kids are testing the newly acquired powers in The Hearn Generating Electrical Station in Toronto's Port Lands area.

Built in 1951 and decommissioned in 1983, the complex has been used to host parties, festivals and also as a filming location for several productions including the Jupiter's Legacy series.

Some key scenes were shot in the area around The Bentway space and Fort York National Historic Site, underneath the Gardiner Expressway in Toronto.

Some scenes were filmed in the Woodbine Mall and Fantasy Fair in Etobicoke, also in Ontario.

This is taken near Moss Park Armory at Jarvis and Shuter. I used to live in the Vu condo building behind Shazam (to the left).
