The Gone School

St. Bartholomew's Independent School was filmed at the site of the Downside Abbey, a historic Benedictine monastery in Stratton-on-the-Fosse, Somerset, England.
Founded in 1607 at Douai and relocated here in 1814, the Gothic Revival church is Grade I listed.
The monastic community dispersed in 2022, with the last monks moving to Belmont Abbey in 2025.

Adjacent to the former Downside Abbey is the Downside School, a Catholic independent boarding school.
The main hall and all of Gone's school rooms were filmed in this stunning 19th-century ensemble, available for productions as a filming location.

The Gone house

Michael Polly's family lives at Abbot's Lodge, which in real life is the Danby Lodge, a 17th-century hunting lodge in the Royal Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire.
Built in 1677 as one of several keeper lodges with 30-acre enclosures for oversight and farming, the gatehouse is now a luxury seven-bedroom holiday rental.
Boasting a pool, gardens, hot tub, cinema room, and forest views, prices start at around £1,500–£3,000 per week depending on the season.
