Where was Ballerina filmed?

The exterior of the house featured at the beginning of Ballerina is Villa Aurora, located in Trsteno Arboretum, Croatia.
This 20th-century summer mansion now lies in ruins amid historic gardens that were also featured in Game of Thrones and Vikings: Valhalla.

The house served not only as an establishing shot; the dock scene was also filmed on location.

The Ballerina Theater

The Ruska Roma society headquarters is the fictional Tarkovsky Theater, first introduced in John Wick 3.
In reality, it’s the United Palace of Cultural Arts, formerly Loew’s 175th Street Theater, located in Washington Heights, Manhattan.
Opened in 1930 as a deluxe movie theatre, the venue was purchased in 1969 by an evangelistic church association.

The New York nightclub scenes were filmed at Budapest Zoo’s Biodome, a state-of-the-art indoor ecosystem featuring diverse tropical and subtropical habitats with enclosures for large animals.
Filming occurred while the complex was still empty, prior to its full opening, which is expected by the end of 2025.

The Continental Hotel in Prague

The entrance to the Prague Continental was set at the Bike7 bar, located just beneath Palackého Bridge.
The striking circular glass door is one of several modern entrances embedded in the historic embankment walls along the Vltava River.
Originally designed as 19th-century storage units or ice cellars, these spaces have been repurposed as cafés, bars, and galleries.

The hall is the interior of the New Stage of the National Theater (Nová scéna), also located in Prague.
Completed in the 1980s, this Brutalist building features a distinctive geometric design that contrasts sharply with the elegant National Theatre visible through its windows.

The Hallstatt town in Ballerina

The town on Lake Traunsee in Austria is Hallstatt, the same location where Nine Perfect Strangers was filmed in season 2.
Often considered one of the most picturesque lakeside villages in Central Europe, Hallstatt is the actual name of the town, which sits on Lake Hallstatt—not Lake Traunsee.

The exterior sequences were filmed on location in the streets of Hallstatt, like the one pictured here, combined with scenes shot in other villages.
According to local press reports, the quaint town of Štramberk near Ostrava, famous for its timbered houses, also served as the secluded village of the Cult organization.

The scene set in Hallstatt’s square was actually filmed some distance away, at Blagovestenska Church square in Szentendre, north of Budapest, Hungary.
Szentendre is considered one of the country’s most beautiful—and touristic—towns, renowned for its Baroque architecture.

The ballet performance at the end of the movie was filmed at the Karlín Music Theatre (Hudební divadlo Karlín).
