Now back for the second season, Bad Sisters was filmed in Ireland, where it is set, as well as in the United Kingdom.

The Apple TV+ show follows the Garvey sisters, who are tightly bound by their shared childhood and an unbreakable promise to protect each other.

Bad Sisters Ireland

This dark comedy and thriller series created by Sharon Horgan revolves around the mysterious death of one sister's abusive husband and an investigation by an insurance company suspicious of foul play.

The Bad Sisters house

Bad Sisters house
In the first season, Eva (played by Sharon Horgan) lived in a superb five-bedroom period home with a beautiful solarium on a spectacular clifftop near the Howth peninsula in Dublin.

Known as Longacre, the 1920s summer house was sadly demolished in 2022 to make way for a 13,000 square foot glass and concrete mansion.

As the local press reported, the new house, designed in part by David Leahy - best known for creating luxury homes for Madonna and Dolores O'Riordan - will include a partially subterranean home with lavish facilities including a gym, cinema, sauna and underground pool.

Grace and John Paul house
Grace (Anne-Marie Duff) and John Paul (Claes Bang) live in a house that is actually in Loughton, Essex, on the outskirts of London.

This house won a local design award in 2020 as an example of architectural heritage conservation for its use of traditional materials and integration with the street scene.

The Claffin & Sons office is located in a vacant building at 40 Sun Street in Waltham Abbey, a historic market town in Essex.

Forty Foot Sandycove
In the first episode, "The Prick", the sisters go swimming at the Forty Foot in Sandycove, Dublin.

Explode a Man
The confirmation ceremony in the second episode, "Explode a Man", was filmed in St Fintan's Church in Sutton, Dublin.

Built in 1973, this structure features raw concrete and a minimalist design typical of the Brutalist architectural style.

The bar where Becka (Eve Hewson) meets Matt (Daryl McCormack) again was filmed at the Gibney's Of Malahide near Dublin.

Established in 1937, this beloved family-run traditional Irish pub is a local institution.

In the third episode, "Chopped Liver", Ursula (Eva Birthistle) and Ben stay at the fictional De Lena Hotel & Spa.

Minna's house is a modernist bungalow in the north-west London suburb of Stanmore.

Poolbeg Chimneys
This scene was filmed at the Ladies Swimming Shelter on North Bull Island, the UNESCO-designated biosphere reserve in Dublin Bay.

The chimney towers in the background are the Poolbeg Chimneys, part of the Poolbeg Generating Station, which have become an iconic landmark on Dublin's coastline.

The new season 2 locations

Bad Sisters season 2 filming locations
Two years later, at the start of the second series, the sisters drive along Ireland's highest sea cliffs, Sliabh Liag in Donegal.

However, according to The Irish Independent, this scene was filmed in the Belmont Demesne area of County Wicklow.

Leopardstown Racecourse
This episode, "Good Sisters", also features a sequence filmed at the Leopardstown Racecourse in Dublin.

Established in 1888, this premier horse racing venue hosts prestigious events such as the Irish Champion Stakes and the Leopardstown Christmas Festival.

Fergal Loftus favourite pub, The Gravedigger's, is The Palm Tree Pub in Mile End Park in London's East End.
