Created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, the series stars Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris, a seasoned oil industry player who solves problems negotiating with both the MTex Oil Company and the field workers.

The Landman locations
The sequence of the plane landing on one of the oil company's private roads was filmed in Young County, about 85 miles northwest of Fort Worth.
The scene required the closure of State Highway 16 between Turtle Hole Road and Oliver Lane for more than two weeks.

The man camp and some oil pumping scenes were filmed on a set located on the Cleburne Highway between Weatherford and Cresson.
You can spot an oil derrick and some trucks parked on Google Street View.

In the first episode, the oil workers take Tommy's son, Cooper (played by Jacob Lofland) to a drive-thru coffee shop where he orders a latte.
The Babes N'Brew stand was a set built in a commercial area along Camp Bowie West Boulevard in Benbrook.

Just before the Babes N'Brew scene, there is an establishing shot of the Valero gas station on Cedarcrest Drive in Haltom City.

Tommy's boss, Monty Miller (Jon Hamm), appears for the first time in a scene filmed at the Ash 40 Cigar Lounge in the Petroleum Club of Fort Worth.
Located on the 40th floor of the 777 Main Street skyscraper, this exclusive lounge offers breathtaking views of the city.

The Patch Cafe
The production team transformed a vacant building at 9812 Camp Bowie West Boulevard in Fort Worth into The Patch Cafe set.
As the Star-Telegram reported, the building, which had been abandoned for years after serving as a gas station, hardware store, and other businesses, was bought by a family who will reopen it as a steak restaurant.

We meet Tommy's 17-year-old daughter, Ainsley (played by 27-year-old actress Michelle Randolph) in the Ratliff Stadium in Odessa.
Opened in 1982, the stadium, home to the Permian and Odessa High School football teams, was featured in the 2004 movie Friday Night Lights.

The Landman house
Monty's mansion is a stunning 8,200-square-foot estate built in 1927 in the exclusive Crestline area of Fort Worth.
According to Redfin, this four-bedroom, three-bathroom house with a large pool and a scenic pond has an estimated value of around five million dollars.

In the second episode, "Dreamers and Losers", the Midland General Hospital is actually the Faith Community Hospital in Jacksboro, Texas.

Monty and his wife Cami, played by Demi Moore, are at their daughter's athletic competition.
This scene was filmed at the Lowdon Track And Field Complex at Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth.

The home of the grieving families is located at 1100 Park Center Street in Benbrook, a suburb about 10 miles southwest of Fort Worth.

The Hotel Drover, a luxury boutique hotel located in the Fort Worth Stockyards, also appears in the second episode.
The hotel's facade features an iconic neon cowboy sign, designed by artist Evan Voyles in 2020.

One of the few scenes actually filmed in Midland is this shot at the end of the second episode, taken at the population limit sign on the Interstate 20 frontage road.

The third episode, "Hell Has a Front Yard," features the 18-hole golf course at River Crest Country Club in Fort Worth.
Founded in 1911, the city's first country club was designed in the elegant Spanish Colonial Revival style.

The Resort Golf Club in Fort Worth served as the Midland View Country Club.
Part of a luxury residential community, the club boasts an 18-hole championship golf course and the large pool that is shown in the series.

Looking at the buildings in the background, at the end of the fourth episode, "The Sting of Second Chances," Monty is in the central Sundance Square Plaza in Fort Worth.
