Belle Isle, Georgia: Where was Pieces of Her filmed? All the Locations

Based on the New York Times 2018 best seller of the same name by Karin Slaughter, Pieces of Her was filmed in Georgia and the New South Wales region of Australia.
The thriller, revolving around a young woman piecing together her mother's dark past, is set in the fictional town of Belle Isle in Georgia.

The Netflix series was originally supposed to be filmed in Vancouver and British Columbia, Canada, but the pandemic delayed and relocated that section of the shoot to Australia.
From the producers of Big Little Lies and The Undoing, the series stars Australian actress Toni Collette (Hereditary, Knives Out) as Laura Oliver. Her daughter, Andy, is played by Bella Heathcote (Neighbours, The Man in the High Castle).

Welcome to Belle Isle, Georgia
The small, sleepy beachside town of Belle Isle is an amalgam of several locations.
The local press reported that the production was filming on Mallery Street in St. Simons Island, Georgia, in July 2021. The first scene with Andy cycling her bike was filmed here.
However, the house was filmed almost on the other side of the world, on Australia's Central Coast.
According to the Newcastle Herald, the house was a property transformed into a 1950s home near Macmasters Beach on the Bouddi Peninsula (about 60 miles north of Sydney). The street was lined with American cars.

The key restaurant scene was filmed in March 2021 at the Margarita Daze restaurant in Umina Beach on Australia's Central Coast.
This seafood eatery was transformed into the Crab Shack in the first episode.
Also, some episodes of the Netflix series Surviving Summer, set in Shorehaven, were filmed in the area.

The bridge near the sign of Belle Isle (that reads ‘Sun Sand Serenity’) is the Houlihan Bridge in Port Wentworth outside Savannah.
Built in 1922, this is the last working turnstile bridge in Georgia.

Some of the scenes in Carrollton, when Andy is looking for the Get-Em-Go storage place, were actually filmed in Cartersville, a small city in Bartow County, located about 40 miles northwest of Atlanta.

A local outlet revealed that the Chicory Motel where Andy spends the night on her way to Camden, Maine, is The Budget Inn on GA Highway 53 in Jasper, Georgia.
As in the series, the Blues Bar and Grill is located just across the street. The production crew used an old cafe called Blue Rodeo.

In the third episode, the AJ's Auto Inc car dealer with the old 1970s yellow Corvette Stingray coupe is located at 1511 S Cobb Drive SE in Marietta, GA.
The Citgo gas station, located somewhere in Alabama, is at 45 E Church Street in Jasper.

The bookstore’s interior was filmed at Barnes & Noble at 2952 Cobb Parkway SE in Cumberland, Atlanta.

However, the bookstore’s exterior was filmed in a building on Pryor Street Southwest and Upper Alabama Streets near Underground Atlanta in Downtown.
The alley, pictured, is next to the Twin Towers mural on Pryor Street.

In episode fourth, Jasper Queller's private fundraiser in El Paso, Texas, was recorded at the Aware Super Theatre and the ICC Sydney convention center at Darling Harbour in Sydney.

The Queller mansion is one of Sydney’s most famous houses, the Swifts Mansion in Darling Point.
Instead of overlooking the San Francisco Bridge, this Victorian Gothic Revival house with a gorgeous swimming pool has views of Port Jackson Bay.

Built in 1882, this $60 million privately-owned historic home is a rare survivor of a group of similar grand residences located on the southern shore of Sydney Harbour.
The current owners bought this property, featuring ornate ceilings and magnificent stained glass windows, in 1997.
Since then, the family has spent many years restoring and renovating the home which was in a state of disrepair.
The scene in the fifth episode, when Andy meets Mike (played by Jacob Scipio) at Pier 28 in San Francisco, was filmed under Pyrmont Bridge in Sydney’s Darling Harbour.

The cemetery is the Botany Cemetery in Matraville, an eastern suburb in Sydney, overlooking Botany Bay.
The family's mausoleum was a set built at the square atop the mound in the highest point of the cemetery.

There are reports about a riot scene set in the 1980s, the one in episode six, filmed outside the Hercules Street Studios in Surry Hills, Sydney.

The Food Mart is located at 5072 Buford Highway NE in Doraville, GA. The flat tire scene was filmed on the same highway, near the Red and Green Brazilian Steak House.
The 1950s-style retro diner Sam's 24 Hour (pictured) is the Skyline Drive In Blacktown, located on the outskirts of Sydney.

The safe house in the forest and the scenes driving through the woods were filmed somewhere in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney.

The never-ending sandy beach of the series finale seems to be the stunning 20 miles long (32 km) Stockton Beach adjacent to Worimi Regional Park located north of Newcastle, NSW.
The Australian radio station Star 104.5 and the Newcastle Herald reported that filming also took place at The Entrance, San Remo, Williamtown, Raymond Terrace, Port Stephens, Kincumber, Ocean Beach, Ettalong Beach, and Sydney's Camperdown.

When Andy meets Mike at pier 28 in San Francisco, she's actually in Darling Harbour. The diner scene when she meets her mum is the Blacktown drive-in in Sydney.

These places over in Savannah, Georgia, are familiar! I especially love the beach there and I just can't stop looking at the features on this page. I really want to go back there so badly!

The car dealership that is shown in episode 3, where Andy purchases a car, is located in Marietta on South Cobb Drive, Cobb County, GA. It's about 15 mins outside of Atlanta.

I have lived in Carrollton, GA, since I was three years old, and none of the Carrollton scenes were actually filmed in Carrollton.

Not quite. It's Botany Cemetery in Sydney, overlooking Botany Bay. The mausoleum isn't real, but the paved square atop the mound is. It's the highest point, in the middle of the cemetery.
