Where was The 27-Hour Day filmed? The Meadowlawn Retreat in Springfield, Montana:

Posted by

The 27-Hour Day follows one of the most successful Hallmark movie formulas: a girl with a “big city job” learns to slow down, finding love and happiness along the way, all wrapped in magnificent filming locations.

The movie revolves around Lauren, a busy New York City woman who needs some decompression time. She eventually makes her way to the Meadowlawn mountain retreat located in a small (and fictional) town, far from all the stress of her everyday life, called Springfield, Montana.

Where was The 27-Hour Day filmed

However, like many Hallmarkies, The 27-Hour Day was primarily filmed in and around Vancouver in British Columbia.

The main cast is led by Autumn Reeser as Lauren, Andrew Walker as Jack, the handsome retreat owner, and Lillian Doucet-Roche as Heather, a workaholic wedding planner.

The Meadowlawn Retreat

Meadowlawn Retreat
Jack's Meadowlawn Retreat is actually the Eagle Tree Lodge on Cheam Slough off Fraser River, situated about a couple of miles (3 km) from Agassiz.

Booking the two only bedrooms available in this awesome 3-star hideaway, surrounded by nature, costs almost US$300 per night.

Guests can use a kayak, a canoe, three bikes, fishing poles... However, this small hotel features free Wi-Fi in public areas and satellite TV!

Welcome to Springfield, Montana

Springfield Montana
Agassiz, a small village of the district municipality of Kent in British Columbia, doubled as Springfield, MT.

Located about 60 miles east of central Vancouver, Agassiz is a great hideaway from the hustle of the city.

The town is considered to be the "Corn Capital" of British Columbia, and there's a dedicated festival held every September in which Springfield's Annual Honey Fest is loosely based.

The 27-Hour Day city
The farmers market and the scenes in the town were filmed on Pioneer Avenue, Pioneer Park, and Centennial Spray Park. The shoot took place for a couple of days in May 2021.

Agassiz is small but has preserved many houses boasting beautiful early 20th-century architecture. There's nothing like some good 'old world charm' to set up a romantic film shoot on location.

The 27-Hour Day house
In the movie, the historic house where the local outlet Agassiz Observer is hosted became Ladd Veterinary Office.

Also, if you are a fan of the Virgin River series, you have to know that the street with the 'Welcome to Virgin River' sign was filmed here on Pioneer Avenue.

The 27-Hour Day location
The town is backdropped by lush mountains, gorgeous lakes, and the scenic Fraser River, ideal to relax and to pretend that you are in Montana.

At the end of the day, a small section of British Columbia borders Montana - the mighty Rocky Mountains pass through both states.

The 27-Hour Day mom house
The lovely Lauren's mom house is located at 9992 240 Street in the heart of Albion, Maple Ridge.

Built in 1912 but extensively updated, the property boasts four bedrooms and three bathrooms in 3295 square feet.

I cannot believe the last scene in the 27 hour day was not in central park NYC or was CGI.

One picture toward the end of the movie is a mountain that lookes like Mount Ben Lomond in Ogden Utah. If it isn't the same mountain I would love to know where its twin is.

Mount Ben Lomond was named after a mountain in Scotland. In the winter when the snow falls on it there is a smile just under the peak. It was also used when Paramount Studios was looking for a logo.
