The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard city
The chase continues through the beautiful streets of Rovinj. This town looks Italian because, during a long period of its history, it was part of the mighty Republic of Venice.

For more than 500 years, the city, known as Rovigno in Italian, was an important settlement in the Istrian peninsula, ruled by the Venetians.

After passing to the Austrian Empire in 1797 and to the Kingdom of Italy in1918, all Istria was ceded to Yugoslavia in 1947.

Blue Grotto Croatia
The small lighthouse and the cliff from where Sonia and Michael jump is also located in Rovinj's old town.

However, the underground cave where the duo ends up escaping from the bullets is quite far away from Istria.

The Blue Grotto is a wonderful natural sea cave located on the remote island of Biševo near Vis in the central Dalmatian archipelago.

This is the same area where the fictional Zbrka Castle from The Gray Man movie was supposed to be.

Scene filmed in Zagreb
According to the local press, the scene on the top of a building where the mobsters do the demonstration was really filmed in Zagreb, at the public garage hotel behind the Panorama Hotel in Čazmanska Street.

The scenes of chaos after cutting the power grid were also shot at several spots in the capital city of Croatia.

However, this sequence, and also one of the last ones of the movie taking place in a harbor were filmed at the Port of Trieste in Italy.

Cuvaj me s leda 2 mjesta snimanja
The cute town on the hill where the trio drives the small Lada Riva car looks a bit like Motovun with some digital modifications, a gorgeous village nestled in the Istrian mountains, but the gas station scene was filmed back in Rovinj.

Apparently, a wedding scene was filmed in a set filmed in Pisarovina, located outside Zagreb, but it didn't make it to the final cut.

Nebulosa Club in Portofino
The Nebulosa Club in Portofino was also filmed in Rovinj, in the Hotel Adriatic on Marshal Tito Square.

Trieste doubling as Firenze? Yep, Trieste doubling as Firenze. The architecture of the Unità d'Italia Square (Unity of Italy), filled with monumental buildings made with the elegant Adriatic coast white stone, served as the venue of the auction of Aristotle's artworks.

Vodnjan Istria
The subsequent car chase goes through People's Square in the nice town of Vodnjan near Pula, back in the Istrian Peninsula.

Vodjan also looks more Venetian than Tuscan, but who cares.

The staircase scene was filmed in the coastal city of Rijeka, near the Hotel Bonavia.

Mirna Bridge
The viaduct sequence with the helicopter was filmed at Mirna Bridge (Most Mirna).

Located between the Nova Vas and Višnjan, this 1,378 meters long viaduct (4,521 ft) opened in 2005 was blown up CGI'd to film this spectacular scene.

The shoot with all the main cast took place on April 15, 2019. This awarded winery celebrated its 130th anniversary this year.

Greek shipping tycoon Aristotle Papadopoulos's mansion is the Miramare Castle located on the outskirts of Trieste.

However, the magnificent interior with the staircase is the Victoria Hall of Woolwich Town Hall near London, a 1906 building seat of Royal Greenwich's local government.

The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard location
In this scene pictured, Rovinj's skyline was CGI'd. It's not until the next boat chase that the tall bell tower of St Euphemia's Church appears in the movie, so the filmmakers can pretend it's a different location.

Karlovac Croatia
The scene with all the Interpol agents led by Bobby O'Neill (Frank Grillo) storming a sewage drill in Viareggio (Italy) was filmed in Karlovac, a nice historical town in central Croatia, although it hardly appears in the movie.

The wide shot which introduces the city of Terracina, just before the port shot, is the panorama of Rijeka filmed from a spot at Mt. Učka. (difficult to pinpoint but somewhere above the city of Opatija which was mostly CGI-deleted from the scene) If anyone is interested in the port shot, this is as precise as Google Maps allow:

The helicopter shots of the scooter chase in Rovinj, from the Mulini beach, also use a lot of CGI to completely change the scenery. For example, in reality, there are no waterfront buildings in the area and the promenade is not at sea level.
