Where was Selena filmed? The Selena Hotel & Beach Filming Locations

Selena: The Series tells the story of the Queen of Tejano music, one of the most popular, on both sides of the border, Tex-Mex singers.

The short and intense life of Selena Quintanilla became even more famous after her tragic end at the hands of her former manager in 1995.

The series, starring Christian Serratos (Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, The Twilight Saga) is primarily set in Texas.

However, Selena was entirely filmed in several locations in Baja California, Mexico. Here is our almost spoiler-free guide to the filming locations of the series.

Corpus Christi Cathedral
Some establishing shots are from Corpus Christi in Texas. This is the city where Selena’s family moved some years after she was born in the town of Lake Jackson (Greater Houston metropolitan area). Pictured, the iconic Corpus Christi Cathedral.

  1. Love film locations. Opening scene of Selena episode 2, the band performing at a bar and where the
girl gives Selena a flower was filmed at the Texano Bar which is across the main street from the Rosarito Beach Hotel, go up the street about 200 feet. I've spent many hours there and have pics.
