Now back for season four, Blood & Water was filmed in Cape Town and in a few more locations in South Africa.

The exclusive Parkhurst High School, where a lot of the plot takes place, is set in a beautiful historic building of the University of Cape Town.

Where was Blood and Water filmed

The story revolves around a young teenager who thinks that shares blood with a water sports champion (hence the title of the show).

The show, now back for the second season, stars Ama Qamata (Puleng), Khosi Ngema (Fikile), Thabang Molaba (Karabo 'KB'), and Gail Mabalane (Thandeka).

Parkhurst High
The magnificent building of Parkhurst High School is Smuts Hall, a UCT Student Residence.

Located in the Upper Campus overlooking the city on the slopes of Devil's Peak, Smuts accommodates 230 students.

This is the same The Kissing Booth school used in the romantic comedy movie series.

Secondary school Blood and Water
Smuts Hall was founded in 1928 as Men’s Residence and it was renamed after the death in 1950 of Jan Smuts, the UCT Chancellor and former prime minister of South Africa.


Parkhurst high school
The secondary school's large lecture hall is the Sarah Baartman Hall of the University of Cape Town, located also on the same campus.

Blood and Water drehort
The indoor swimming pool plays a key role in the drama. The production shot all the scenes in the Linden pool, located on the other side of the country near Johannesburg, 870 miles away from Cape Town.

Karabo 'KB' Molapo's jaw-dropping rock house is the Llandudno Rock Villa perched on a dramatic cliff near Cape Peninsula outside Cape Town.

  3. The school that Zama attends was shot at Sans Souci Girls' High in Newlands, they even used their uniform, with the exception of a different name and badge on the blazer. The foyer always displaces select pieces from art students.

  8. In S3E4, just after the titles where Chris is floating in the pool and Lunga brings him a green smoothie, this is filmed at a house overlooking Camps Bay at the corner of Kloof Road and Clifton Road.
