Where was Lady and the Tramp filmed? Guide to ALL the Filming Locations

If you are not too young, probably you have seen at some point the cartoon scene with two lovely dogs eating spaghetti and meatballs in a romantic setting: the movie is a remake of the 1955 acclaimed Disney animated classic masterpiece.

Lady and the Tramp was entirely filmed in Savannah (Georgia), with studio work taking place in Atlanta.

Mixing lots of CGI with live-action, real dogs (some of them rescue cases), and people, this is a love story set in an undetermined city in the 1910s.

This production, which didn't receive a theatrical release, was the main highlight along with The Mandalorian series of the brand new streaming platform Disney+ in 2019.

Where was 'Lady and the Tramp' filmed?

Lady and the Tramp city
A lot of filming took place in and around Wright Square, filled with charming historical architecture.

Part of the set dressing included temporary aesthetic changes to business storefronts in the streets around the square, that were removed once filming was complete.

Shooting location Savannah town
The crew and cast (human and canine), were also filming in Savannah downtown Johnson Square.

In the last years, many productions have been filming in and around Savannah, including the Netflix series set in Belle Isle, Georgia, Pieces of Her.

Lady and the Tramp restaurant
The scene pictured was shot at E Upper Factors Walk, near Savannah City Hall and the 19th-century warehouse restaurant Vic's On the River.

Restaurant road and the Noodle Parlor seem to be (or at least, to be inspired by) one of the alleys with metal pedestrian bridges in Factors Walk, behind River Street.

Georgia State Railroad Museum location
The Georgia State Railroad Museum, also located in the city of Savannah, hosted a couple of sequences.

The riverboat cruise (Mississippi style) was filmed onboard of one of the classic vessels that tour the Savannah River.

The house and church
Savannah's Cathedral of St. John the Baptist is also featured in the film.

However, Darling and Jim Dear's gorgeous house is not located across the park, as is shown in the opening scene.

Susi und Strolch drehort
Lady is voiced by Tessa Thompson and Tramp is Justin Theroux. Janelle Monáe (Peg the Pekingese), Benedict Wong (Bull), Sam Elliott (Trusty), Ashley Jensen (Jock), and Clancy Brown (Isaac) complete the main voice cast. Thomas Mann and Kiersey Clemons play the human couple, Jim and Darling.

In the first picture, that's me, passing the lady just to the left of the white column, left of the pushcart. I'm famous!! Sort of...
