Who watches the Watchmen? The highly anticipated television series is based on the DC Comics graphic novel from the genius of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons.

The action is taking place in a dystopian alternate reality where superheroes changed the course of history since they emerged in the 1940s.

The main characters are played by Jeremy Irons as Adrian Veidt (aka Ozymandias), Regina King as Angela Abar (Sister Night), Tim Blake Nelson as Wade Tillman (Looking Glass), Don -Miami Vice- Johnson as Chief Judd Crawford, and Jean Smart as Laurie Blake, the FBI agent member of the Anti-Vigilante Task Force.

The series is set in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Watchmen was filmed in several towns in Georgia including Atlanta, and also in Wales (UK). The Ozark season 3 filming locations were also shot in and around the city, which has become a filming hub for many movies and TV shows.

Watchmen castle
Adrian's mansion was filmed in the Penrhyn Castle in Bangor, Wales (United Kingdom).

This old fortress was transformed into a Neo-Norman manor house after several reconstructions between the 17th and 18th centuries.

Watchmen House
This magnificent National Trust property, with views over the gorgeous Snowdonia National Park, provided the exterior and all interiors for the series.

Penrhyn Castle was recreated in a 3D model for use in CGI scenes in some episodes.

According to one of our readers, the field with Jeremy Irons firing the trebuchet was shot in South Fulton, Georgia.

The square in Decatur
Several key scenes were filmed in Decatur in East Court Square. Sister Night's hideout, The Milk and Hanoi Bakery is also located nearby.

Watchmen drehort
The bank from the third episode 'She Was Killed by Space Junk' is the Bank of America Financial Center located on Walton Street in downtown Atlanta.

According to one of our readers, the interior is actually the Citizens and Southern National Bank building located next door.

The churchyard from HBO series scene
The graveyard scenes were shot at the historic Decatur Cemetery.

The Netflix series Sweet Magnolias set in the fictional town of Serenity, South Carolina, was also shot in the city.

The funfair flashback scene street
The street fair in Hoboken in 1985 from episode five was shot in Newnan (Washington Street, between Brown Street and West Court Square).

Greenwood location
Local channel 13WMAZ reported that the series was filming in several streets in downtown Macon.

The black-and-white episode 6 'This Extraordinary Being', taking place in 1938 in New York City, was shot here.

  2. The bank scene you have a shot of up there is the Bank of America on Walton St in Downtown Atlanta.

  3. Interior of the cemetery was Decatur Cemetery, exterior/entryway is Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta. Exterior of NYC Capitol Theatre is in Macon, but interior is the Plaza Theatre in Atlanta.
