Curfew Filming Locations: The sets where the Sky One series is filmed
Posted by Ra Moon
The new Curfew series feels like a British modern version of those crazy 70's or 80's road-movies like Mad Max or the Cannonball saga. The 25 vehicles of the participants in this illegal race, from London to the Scottish Highlands, have a distinctive retro-look. For the ultimate winner the price is freedom from a totalitarian government that imposes the curfew and controls citizens lives.
We hope that Game Of Thrones star Sean Bean is going to make it through the first season. The Sky One show is also starring Billy Zane (the bad guy in Titanic), Adrian Lester (Mary Queen of Scots, Riviera), Adam Brody (The O.C.), Elijah Rowen (Vikings), Phoebe Fox and Miranda Richardson just to name a few.
Curfew was basically filmed in and around Manchester, Liverpool, Cheshire and the Peak District. We will be updating and expanding this spoiler-free report every week including more details and new filming locations of the series:
Where is Curfew filmed?
Lots of action takes place in Liverpool city centre. The crew filmed the car chase scene from epiosde one in Water Street. The blue McLaren 570 GT goes through the streets around the City Hall, before ending up in Churchill Way (A57), near the World Museum. There are also scenes with people opening business in the morning when the curfew ends, shot in Tithebarn Street.

The streets of Manchester were extensively used to host the production. Sean Bean's workshop exteriors look like the arcs in Livery St. Curfew filmed some scenes outside Old Granada Studios and Byrom Street. The East Lancashire Road (A580) was also closed for a few nights to shot some stunt scenes.

Cressbrook Hall is a popular venue for weddings and events in the heart of the Peak District. It was used to shot the hospital in the flashback of episode one. Image courtesy of Cressbrook Hall - Map
A large section of the third episode was filmed at Drakelow Tunnels. This is an old secret underground military complex located in Wolverley and Cookley, west of Birmingham. Image courtesy of Joesaphine - Map
The London checkpoint from episode 3 was filmed at the entrance of the bus station of Crewe (Cheshire East), in Victoria St. Image courtesy of Google Maps
