Where was Solo filmed? The Spectacular Star Wars Story Filming Locations

The Star Wars universe is expanding to the original world of mythical galactic badass Han Solo.

We'll get to know first hand the events that made him walk on the rebel side of the force, on how he won the Millennium Falcon in a card game, and all the legend behind Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian.

Solo: A Star Wars Story was filmed in the UK, Italy, and Spain, boasting spectacular filming locations.

Where was Solo filmed

The free-spirit smuggler who immortalized Harrison Ford is played by young actor Alden Ehrenreich.

His partner in crime is Mother Of Dragons Emilia Clarke. Lando Calrissian is played by Donald Glover, also known as musician Childish Gambino. Woody Harrelson (Natural Born Killers, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) plays Tobias, Han's mentor.

Inside the Millennium Falcon set
Pinewood Studios served as the base for the film’s production. Most of the interior scenes were filmed there.

Planet Corellia
The hometown of Han Solo, Planet Corellia, is a place renowned for its stellar shipbuilding industry.

Apart from the studio, filming in England also took place at Fawley Power Station in Southampton.

The Solo Film Location in Italy: Planet Vandor

Mountains Solo movie
The spectacular scenes of the snowy planet of Vandor were filmed in the Italian Dolomites region.

The crew recorded panoramic shots of the famous Tre Cime di Lavaredo (Three peaks of Lavaredo), a UNESCO World Heritage site in Belluno province.

Some more filming took place in the area of Monte Piana near Misurina (pictured).

Local newspapers informed that a scene was shot near the First World War trenches at the Museum Of The Great War and Cinque Torri in Cortina d'Ampezzo.

Desert beach scenes
The white sand beaches of Cofete and Barlovento in Jandía Natural Park hosted the filming in Spain.

The pieces of the huge intergalactic scrap metal set were shipped to the island from Pinewood Studios in the UK.
