Produced by the Duffer Brothers, the creators of Stranger Things, The Boroughs was filmed on location in New Mexico, where the series is set.
Starring Alfred Molina, Geena Davis, Alfre Woodard, Bill Pullman, Clarke Peters, and Denis O'Hare, the show revolves around a seemingly idyllic retirement community in the New Mexico desert, where a group of residents uncover a mysterious otherworldly threat.

The Boroughs location
The houses on the cul-de-sac were built at the Netflix Studios Albuquerque lot and are visible on Google Maps.
Many other locations and interiors were also filmed here.
The Sandia Mountains appear several times in the background in shots filmed from this angle.

The Manor was partially filmed at the former Ramada by Wyndham Albuquerque East, located just off I-40 in northeast Albuquerque.
As one of our readers noted, the old motel is being transformed into an actual retirement community.

One of the few buildings in The Boroughs complex that was not filmed on the set is the First Plaza Galleria, a commercial complex located in downtown Albuquerque.
This modernist building was designed by architect Harry Weese in 1972 as the headquarters of First National Bank and is now an unusual underground shopping arcade.

The abandoned desert town where Art goes in the second episode, "The Mourning After", is the famous Bonanza Creek Ranch near Santa Fe.
Established in the 1940s, this Western-style film ranch has a long history as a filming location for Hollywood productions, appearing in countless productions.

The angle on the Sandias actually would point to the location being dead west of Albuquerque, maybe in the direction of Lost Horizon (but not that far out). The view of the mountains from Rio Rancho is radically different from what you see on the horizon in the “neighborhood scenes.”

The homes and cul-de-sac were built on the Netflix Studios site south of Albuquerque. You can see it on Google Maps.
