Where was Untamed filmed? The real Yosemite Park filming locations

Set in Yosemite National Park, California, Untamed was actually filmed in British Columbia, Canada, located more than 900 miles to the north.

Blending stunning wilderness scenery with a dark murder investigation, the movie stars Eric Bana as National Park Service agent Kyle Turner.

The Untamed Yosemite Park

The accident occurs at El Capitan, a towering granite monolith that rises over 3,000 feet (900 meters), a world-renowned destination for rock climbers.
However, the showrunners used a similar mountain in Squamish, British Columbia, Stawamus Chief, about 2,300 feet (700 meters) tall—for all the close-up shots.

Throughout the series, especially in the first episode, several establishing shots feature iconic Yosemite Valley landmarks, including Half Dome and Bridalveil Fall.
Located in California’s Sierra Nevada, Yosemite is a UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its stunning granite cliffs, waterfalls, and giant sequoias.

The visitors lodge is the Fraternal Order of Eagles Hall in Maple Ridge, with the mountains CGI'ed in the background.
Dedicated to supporting communities through volunteer work, the hall of this charitable organization was also featured as a location in the series Tracker.

Kyle Turner's cabin is Mel's house from Virgin River!
Although, like in the Netflix hit series, it appears to be deep in the wilderness, the cabin is actually located in a densely populated area within Murdo Frazer Park in North Vancouver.
The park, which spans five acres of wooded trails and includes a small pond, has been used as a filming location for several movies and TV shows.

The hotel, reminiscent of the historic luxury lodge The Ahwahnee in Yosemite National Park, was filmed at Nita Lake Lodge in Whistler Creekside.
This boutique lakeside resort features an award-winning spa and a bar that appears in several scenes.
You can stay in one of its spacious rooms starting at about CAD 188 per night (approximately USD 137).

The horse riding scene in the second episode, "Jane Doe", was filmed at Morris Lake, located north of Harrison Mills in southwestern BC. The background mountains were added digitally.

The tattoo shop was filmed in a store at 5th Avenue and Wallace Street in Hope, a town about a two-hour drive east of Vancouver.

The Mariposa Moon store with the wolf mural was also filmed in Hope.
Apparently, the mural was painted specifically for the shot and had to be painted back to white after filming finished, although some local residents tried to save it.

The flashback scene atop the mountain may have been filmed at one of the viewpoints overlooking Howe Sound near the Sea to Sky Gondola Summit Lodge.

Casa Bueno is a residential building on Henry Street in Port Moody.

The church in the Nevada town featured in the final episode, "All Trails Lead Here", was filmed at the Bonaparte Indian Band Reserve Church.
Located near Cache Creek, about an hour’s drive west of Kamloops, the site includes a small cemetery situated across the highway.

The Emerald Mountain Casino is the Turf Hotel in Surrey.
Offering budget-friendly rooms, the hotel includes the attached Turf Lounge bar, which also appears in the series.

A key scene was filmed at the Cheakamus River Waterfalls, a series of small yet picturesque cascades located just south of Whistler.
