Back for season 3, The Summer I Turned Pretty features the fictional Finch College, filmed in North Carolina.

At the end of the second season, Finch College was filmed at the courtyard at St. Andrews-Covenant Presbyterian Church in Wilmington.

However, in the third season, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus served as the The Summer I Turned Pretty college.
The fictional McNeill Hall is actually the Old East building.

The scenes in the campus gardens were filmed at McCorkle Place, the area surrounded by the UNC–Chapel Hill iconic buildings like Old East and South Building.

In the first episode, “Last Season,” we’re introduced to several fraternity and sorority houses on campus.
The Alpha Mu Chapter of Kappa Sigma at UNC was founded in June 1893, making it one of the fraternity’s earliest U.S. chapters, Kappa Sigma itself was established in 1869 at the University of Virginia.

In the series, the real-life Pi Kappa Phi house was digitally altered to represent the fictional Omega Omega Alpha fraternity.
Despite the on-screen change, the actual chapter is recognized for its strong focus on academics, leadership, and community service.

Established in September 1923, Pi Beta Phi’s North Carolina Alpha Chapter made history as UNC–Chapel Hill’s first women’s fraternity.
Today, the chapter is based in a stately Colonial Revival home, reflecting both tradition and timeless campus charm.
