The Enoteca Maria restaurant in Nonnas

The restaurant Joe opens in honor of his late mother and grandmother, Enoteca Maria, is set on Staten Island.
But the actual restaurant scenes were filmed at 714 3rd Avenue in Elizabeth, New Jersey, the former location of the beloved Spirito's Restaurant.
Opened in 1932, Spirito's closed in 2020 during the COVID pandemic, along with many other restaurants across the country.

The real Enoteca Maria, which is featured at the end of the movie, is located near the Staten Island Ferry terminal.
Founded in 2007, Joe Scaravella's original idea was to employ grandmothers from different regions of Italy.
In 2015, the restaurant expanded its concept to include grandmothers from different cultural backgrounds.
