Including interesting filming locations, Mark Wahlberg stars in this action-comedy about a cross-country road trip.

Where was The Family Plan filmed?
The Morgan family lives in the suburbs of Buffalo, New York, although only the establishing shots were filmed there.
The Planet Car Deal where Dan works as a used car salesman is actually the Bill Holt Mitsubishi dealership in Canton, Georgia.

The house is located in a new development built in 2021 in Jonesboro, a suburb south of Atlanta.

The amusement park is the Six Flags Over Georgia in Austell, just outside of Atlanta.
This is one of the original three parks in the Six Flags chain and has been entertaining visitors since it opened in 1967.

Located about 25 miles northeast of Atlanta, the Duluth High School doubles as the fictional Delanore High School.

The mobile phone scene was filmed at the Bethany Bridge in Cartersville, over the Lake Allatoona in Georgia.

For the road trip, the film crew captured aerial footage of various American landmarks.
The Morgans drive their Honda Odyssey minivan across the Hope Memorial Bridge in Cleveland, Ohio.
This bridge is recognized for its unique Art Deco design, featuring massive pylons adorned with sculptures by Henry Hering.

The Burning River Lodge is the Cheshire Motor Inn at 1865 Cheshire Bridge in Atlanta, with plenty of CGI thrown in.
This motel has been used in many productions filmed in Georgia including Ozark, Heels, and Clint Eastwood's 2018 film The Mule just to name a few.

After a crazy car chase to the soundtrack of Enya's classic Only Time as soundtrack, the family wakes up at the Mountain Fresh Creamery in Clermont, featuring an eye-catching giant cow.

The family stops by the fictional Southern Iowa University, filmed at the Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville.

But the track and field scene was filmed at the Griffin Track at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

The diner next to the laser tag was filmed at the Silver Skillet in Midtown Atlanta.
This beloved local restaurant has been serving up delicious Southern breakfasts in the area since 1956.

Before reaching Las Vegas, the Morgans pass through the famous Monument Valley and the monumental Hoover Dam on the border between Arizona and Nevada.
Built during the Great Depression in the 1930s, the Hoover Dam is a marvel of engineering that spans the Colorado River in the Black Canyon.

In Las Vegas, they stay at the ARIA Resort and Casino, a luxurious hotel and entertainment complex situated on the Strip.
Opened in 2009, ARIA is known for its modern architecture, sophisticated design, and upscale amenities.

But looking at the view from the suite, it looks like they are staying somewhere else.
This location seems to be the Boulevard Tower at The Cosmopolitan luxury resort, overlooking the Fountains of Bellagio and Planet Hollywood, near the ARIA.

The Valorant Pro-Am Vegas Showdown was filmed at the HyperX Arena Las Vegas at the Luxor Hotel.
Released in 2020, Valorant is a popular multiplayer first-person shooter game developed and published by Riot Games.

Dan and Jessica dine not in Las Vegas, but at the Lantana Restaurant, the central lounge of the four-star The Starling Atlanta Midtown hotel.

The casino interior was filmed in the lobby of the gorgeous Fox Theatre in Atlanta.
Built in the late 1920s, this venue is a marvel of Middle Eastern and Islamic architectural styles, blended with a touch of Egyptian decor.

The Las Vegas Poseidon Casino Hotel
According to local news reports, The Family Plan was also filmed at The Strat Hotel and Casino, known for its iconic tower.
The 1,149-foot (350-meter) tower was cut and the building reshaped to digitally create the exterior of the Poseidon Casino Hotel.

The lobby entrance was also filmed on location at The Strat (formerly known as the Stratosphere).
However, the Poseidon Hotel interior is a real location, situated in Atlanta.
The jaw-dropping 14-story Grand Atrium of the AmericasMart Building 3 is a soaring and spacious layout with multiple floors and glass elevators.
This spectacular area creates an open and inviting environment for all types of events in the heart of this massive trade center.

Looking at the buildings surrounding the Poseidon from the interior rooms and the roof (Wynn Las Vegas, The Palazzo, Treasure Island), it seems that the hotel is located somewhere between the Trump Tower and the Fashion Show Las Vegas shopping mall.
Most likely, these scenes were filmed in the studios using projected images of this location as a backdrop.
