The 'Moxie' High School and ALL the Filming Locations: Where was Moxie filmed?

Posted by

The Netflix coming-of-rage teen film revolves around Vivian, a shy 16-year-old who decides to publish an anonymous zine calling out sexism at her high school.

Set in a city somewhere in Oregon, Moxie was entirely filmed in and around Los Angeles, California.

Hadley Robinson as Vivian Carter

Directed by Amy Poehler (Leslie in the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation, Wine country), the original working title was "All men are trash". Amy also plays Vivian's mother, Lisa.

The young talented cast includes Hadley Robinson as Vivian Carter, Lauren Tsai as her best friend Claudia, Alycia Pascual-Peña as her new best friend Lucy, Josephine Langford as Emma, Nico Hiraga as Seth Acosta, and Patrick Schwarzenegger (yes, Arnold's son), as bully Mitchell Wilson.

The movie is based on the 2015 novel Moxie, written by Jennifer Mathieu.

If you want to know everything there is to know about Moxie filming locations, look no further. We have it all here:

Moxie High School
Located in El Segundo city on Santa Monica Bay (Los Angeles County), El Segundo High School doubled as the Rockport High School.

Housed in a classic 1927 landmark building, ESHS is a very prestigious institution, situated in the top 5% of secondary schools nationally.

The building is highly used for filming TV shows as well as movies. Some of the most interesting ones include the cult'80s film War Games and Michael Cera's Superbad. The pirate statue is a movie prop.

However, El Segundo was primarily used to film exterior shots.

Apache News, the official television news show of Arcadia High School (Los Angeles County), was the first media to report that Moxie was filming at their very own school.

The track and field stadium scenes were all recorded in this center founded in 1952.
