Set in Oyster Bay, New York, The Beast in Me was filmed primarily in New Jersey.

The series features impressive houses and elegant locations that capture the atmosphere of Long Island.

The Beast in Me Oyster Bay

Blending mystery and noir-style tension, the series follows Claire Danes as Aggie Wiggs, a novelist struggling with writer’s block, until Nile Jarvis (Matthew Rhys), a wealthy neighbour with a turbulent past, moves in next door.

Aggie lives in the wealthy suburban community of Oyster Bay, filmed in a gated community 19 miles from New York City in West Orange, NJ.

She lives alone following the tragic loss of her young son, occupying a magnificent 4,700-square-foot, five-bedroom house.

The graveyard scenes were filmed at Hazelwood Cemetery, situated on the border of Rahway and Colonia in Middlesex County.

The Beast in Me restaurant
Eleanor's restaurant in the first episode, "Sick Puppy", is 26 West On The Navesink, a waterfront restaurant in Red Bank overlooking the Navesink River.

The Molly Pitcher Inn Red Bank
However, the interior was filmed at The Molly Pitcher Inn restaurant, located just a few blocks away, also in Red Bank.

The restaurant is located within a historic 1928 boutique hotel, which stands as a cultural landmark in the Red Bank area.

Roberto’s Pizzeria
The fast-food restaurant JR’s Red Bank served as the exterior for Roberto’s Pizzeria, also situated on Red Bank’s central Front Street.

North Shore Beach
The North Shore Beach in the second episode, "Just Don't Want to Be Lonely", is Laurence Harbor Beach in Old Bridge.

Blairsden house
In the third episode, "Elephant in the Room," the stunning house where Nile’s father, Martin (Jonathan Banks), lives appears for the first time.

Blairsden is a massive Gilded-Age Beaux-Arts mansion set on a 62,000-square-foot estate overlooking Ravine Lake in Somerset County.

Its luxurious interior features marble and carved woodwork across 31 bedrooms. Privately owned, Blairsden is occasionally opened to the public for special events.

New Jersey locations
Local outlet NJ.com listed several additional New Jersey filming locations.

One of them is the 5 Harborside Place office building in Jersey City’s Waterfront area, which doubles as the MHJ Real Estate Corporation headquarters.

Belleville Cortlandt Street
This scene with Nile driving in the fourth episode, "Thanatos", was filmed on Cortlandt Street in Belleville.

The scrap metal dealer is Bib’s Auto Parts in Kearny.

Mana Contemporary in Jersey City served as the fictional Jacon Gallery in the flashback scenes.

Founded in 2011, this major contemporary arts center is housed in a massive former 1920s tobacco warehouse.
