The new HBO miniseries Task was filmed where it is set, in the Philadelphia area and Delaware County.

Task feels like a Mare of Easttown 2, as both series were created by Brad Ingelsby and share a backdrop of gritty realism and working-class Pennsylvania characters.

Task locations

FBI recruiter Tom Brandis (played by Mark Ruffalo) lives in a house in Broomall, Marple Township, about 10 miles west of Philadelphia.
Built in 1939, the four-bedroom home has an estimated market value of around half a million dollars.

In the first episode, "Crossings", Tom attends a local career fair filmed at Neumann University in Aston.
The scene takes place in a multi-purpose facility called the Mirenda Center for Sport, Spirituality, and Character Development.

The first scene with Robbie (Tom Pelphrey) and Cliff (Raúl Castillo) colleting garbage with the track was filmed on South 4th Avenue in Coatesville.

Rita’s Italian Ice is a popular American quick-service dessert chain, founded in 1984 in Bensalem.
Out of the approximately 195 branches in Pennsylvania, Tom’s adopted daughter, Emily, works at the one in Collingdale.

The FBI office exterior is the former Philadelphia Police Department Headquarters near Center City.
Known as 'The Roundhouse', this mid-century landmark, built in 1962, has been the focus of a campaign to preserve the building and prevent its demolition.

The quarry scenes were filmed at least at two different locations.
The one pictured is Dyer Quarry at Sixpenny Creek, near French Creek State Park and Birdsboro.

The shot where Robbie’s gang is sunbathing was filmed at the Flory Mill Quarry in Bangor, a private property within the Slate Belt region of Northampton County.
Despite being off-limits to the public, the site is popular for illegal swimming and cliff diving from a 200-foot drop.
There have already been accidents. In 2019, a man died after jumping off a cliff into the quarry.

According to one of our readers, Maeve’s house is located in Downingtown, Chester County.

The Dark Hearts motorbike parade in the second episode, “Family Statements,” was filmed on Lincoln Highway in Coatesville.
Part of the old U.S. Route 30, this main street–style road is lined with historic architecture.

The bikers’ bar Lefty's Taproom is the Polish American Citizens Club in Coatesville.

The Tip Top Lounge is Martin's Tap House Tavern in Aston.

The Val-u Corner scene was filmed at the Family Dollar in the Willowbrook Shopping Center in Boothwyn.
Maeve’s workplace (KJ’s Arcade) was filmed on a set constructed inside the same building that housed the Val-u Corner façade.
While the Val-u Corner set only included the doors seen on screen, the rest of the space—formerly a Goodwill store—was converted into a fully functioning arcade for filming.

Llanerch Diner, seen in the third episode "Nobody’s Stronger Than Forgiveness", is located in Upper Darby.

One of our readers noted that “Rt 100” is a blend of Rt 30 around Exton and Downingtown, with a few glimpses of the PA Turnpike mixed in.
The exit scene was filmed on Route 30 West onto Norwood Road in Downingtown.

The Locust Lake featured in the fifth episode, "Vagrants," was actually filmed at Marsh Creek Lake, a popular outdoor recreation spot in Chester County.

The bridge is the Woy Bridge, situated in a rural area of Bedford County.

The youth shelter in the sixth episode, "Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a river.", is Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church in Folsom.

The bridge scene in the finale, "A Still Small Voice", was filmed beneath the High Bridge in Coatesville.
Built in the early 20th century, this impressive viaduct, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, continues to carry both freight and passenger trains today.

The exterior of Grasso's house is in 33 Sheridan Lane in Aston.
The exterior car shot of Tom and Aleah driving down a side street and later turning around was filmed very close to there, at the intersection of Scarlet and Florence in Aston.

Does anyone know where Cliff's house is? They referred to 122 Mason Avenue, and the only one I know is Drexel Hill. The house they raided is definitely not on that street.

I came to this site to see where they filmed on etc 282 in the movie Task. 282 is one of the most beautiful, scenic roads in the US.

"Locust Lake" is Marsh Creek Lake. "Rt 100" is a combination of Rt 30 around Exton and Downingtown with a few shots of the PA Turnpike thrown in. Ironically, the scene where Robbie exits off of Rt 100 onto a side road, they're actually exiting onto the real Rt 100.

Episode 6, where Sam was being held in a shelter temporarily, was at Our Lady of Peace Church, 214 Milmont Avenue, Folsom, PA 19033.

That quarry is at Sixpenny Creek near French Creek State Park. It’s called Dyer’s Quarry. I’ve been there myself, way before this show was filmed, and have photos that match some of the shots from the top of the quarry looking down to the bottom.

The outside of Grasso’s house in Episode 7 is 33 Sheridan Lane in Aston. The outside car shot of Tom and Aleah driving down a side street and then later turn around is the same place; it’s Scarlet and Florence in Aston.

Maeve’s job (KJ’s arcade) was shot in a set built inside the same shop as the Val-u Corner facade. The Val-u Corner set was just the doors we saw in the scene, and the rest of the building was an old Goodwill that they turned into a functioning arcade.
