The Terror New Hyde Hospital

The New Hyde Hospital is inspired by the Bayley Seton Hospital, a historic medical center in Stapleton, Staten Island.
The massive 20-acre (81,000 m²), 12-building site was established in 1831 as a U.S. Marine Hospital for sailors. It later evolved into a public health facility, with its main 1930s building still standing.
The Sisters of Charity renamed it after Elizabeth Ann Seton in 1981, later focusing on mental health and substance abuse services.
Financial issues led the complex to change hands until its final closure around 2020, when it was still being used at reduced capacity by The Salvation Army.
