Where was The Night Manager filmed? The house and all the locations

Bringing back Tom Hiddleston as Jonathan Pine for the second season, The Night Manager was filmed in England, as well as in Spain and Colombia.

The first season, which aired in 2016, was a major critical and ratings success. It was praised for its sleek production and performances and won three Golden Globes.

The Night Manager main cast

Season 2 continues the story with an original plot inspired by le Carré’s characters and themes, expanding the series beyond the original novel.

Rex Mayhew’s countryside house is an early Victorian rectory in Oxfordshire called Oxon Rectory, with stables and a lake, available to rent as a filming location.

Richmond Riverside
The scene in which Sally Price-Jones spies on mercenary Jaco Brouwer was filmed at Richmond-upon-Thames’s Landing Stage and Richmond Riverside areas.

The Night Manager Restaurant
Pine contacts Roxana (played by Camila Morrone) at the Wild Restaurant, a stylish Mediterranean-inspired restaurant and bar in Notting Hill.

Bridcot Hotel
The fictional Bridcot Hotel in Queensway is actually the Fairways Hotel Paddington.

This budget hotel offers rooms typically costing £80–£180 per night.

Wellington College Crowthorne
Roper’s son, Danny, attends Wellington College, a prestigious school in Crowthorne, Berkshire.

Founded in 1859, the school is set on a large parkland campus with magnificent Victorian architecture.

Hotel Rusiñol Catalonia
The fictional Hotel Rusiñol in Catalonia (although in Catalan should be written Rossinyol) is actually Cap sa Sal, a former luxury hotel complex on the Costa Brava, near Begur.

Dramatically set on seaside cliffs above the Mediterranean, it was popular with celebrities, particularly during the 1960s and 1970s.

Closed in 1979, it has since been converted into private apartments. As you can see, the dome was added via CGI.

Three Cliffs Bay Gower Peninsula
In the second episode appears the beautiful Three Cliffs Bay, a spectacular sandy bay on the Gower Peninsula in South Wales, which has featured in other major productions, including The Witcher.

Gran Meliá hotel Medellín
The Gran Meliá hotel in Medellín is actually Torre Melina, a luxury hotel complex in Barcelona.

This is the former Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I, which reopened in 2024 after extensive renovation and rebranding.

The new name removes the reference to the former, controversial Spanish king, who was placed on the throne by the fascist dictator Franco.

Medellin Gun Club
According to producer Matthew Patnick, the Medellín Gun Club was filmed between Medellín (the establishing shot) and Catalonia (the tennis club and interiors).

The hall of the Hostal La Gavina in S’Agaró, on the Costa Brava, appears when Pine meets Dos Santos (Diego Calva). The tennis court is also located in the La Gavina complex.

Medellín’s Town Hall
The Ministry of Justice exterior was filmed at Medellín’s Town Hall, a large Brutalist-style government complex in the city centre.

The Night Manager Cemetery
The funeral was filmed at Brompton Cemetery, a historic Victorian garden cemetery with grand avenues in West London.

Opened in 1840, it is one of London’s “Magnificent Seven” cemeteries, featuring monumental tombs.

Facultat de Nàutica de Barcelona
The gala was filmed at the Facultat de Nàutica de Barcelona (Barcelona School of Nautical Studies), a research faculty of the UPC.

Founded in 1769, its current neoclassical building, with stained-glass windows, dates from 1932.

Eje Cafetero town
The Eje Cafetero town in Colombia was filmed in Tegueste, a small historic town in northeastern Tenerife, in the Canary Islands.

The introductory scene in the first episode, set in Syria, was also filmed on Tenerife.

Belén Cemetery is a distinctive circular cemetery in the Belén district of Medellín, constructed in the early 20th century.

The Monasterio Santo Ecce Homo in Colombia is actually the Ermita de la Trinitat, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea near Sitges, Catalonia.

Teddy Dos Santos house
Teddy Dos Santos’s modern villa was filmed on location in a luxurious mansion overlooking the hills of Medellín.

Animare Casa Pestagua Cartagena
In the third episode, the Casa Pestagua, a luxury boutique hotel in Cartagena’s historic Walled City.

Set in an 18th-century colonial mansion with refined service, nightly rates generally range between US$350 and US$600+.

Beach in Bocagrande
The beach scene was filmed in the Playa Hollywood area in Bocagrande, a modern beachfront district of Cartagena known for its high-rise hotels and long Caribbean coastline.

Iglesia de la Trinidad Getsemaní
The yellow church is Iglesia de la Trinidad, located in the vibrant Getsemaní neighbourhood of Cartagena de Indias.

Built in the early 17th century to serve residents outside the Walled City, it was inspired by the colonial architectural design of the city’s cathedral.

Zapatierno Houses
The house in Pau, France, featured in the fourth episode is actually the Zapatierno Houses, located in the Pineta Valley in the Aragonese Pyrenees of Spain, very close to Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park.

The establishment functions as a holiday and retreat centre in the mountains.

Mayfair Club in London
The Reform Club on Pall Mall served as The Mayfair Club in London.

This prestigious private members’ club, founded in 1836, boasts grand Italianate architecture inspired by Renaissance palazzi.

Hacienda La Estancia
Hacienda La Estancia, with the small lake, is actually called Hacienda Cactus, located in the Cundinamarca department, about a three-hour drive southwest of Bogotá.

Les Tres Xemeneies
One of the last scenes in the episode was filmed at Les Tres Xemeneies, three chimneys located on the coast between Sant Adrià de Besòs and Badalona, just outside Barcelona.

This former thermal power station, built in the 1970s and decommissioned in 2011, is now a protected industrial and cultural landmark.

Its chimneys are slightly misaligned because they were designed for functional rather than aesthetic reasons.

In the fifth episode, the Centro de Eventos Santo Coyote is featured, an event venue set in a scenic, semi-rural location in the northern Valle de Aburrá region near Medellín in Colombia.

The Night Manager house in Season One

The Night Manager house
In the first season, arms dealer Richard Roper (Hugh Laurie) lived in a mega-mansion filmed at the spectacular Sa Fortalesa de Pollença estate in Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands.

Originally built in 1628 as a fortress to defend against Moorish raids, it was acquired in 1919 by an Argentine artist, who transformed it into a gathering place for leading avant-garde painters of the time.

Today, it is owned by a British banker who purchased the property in 2011 for €40 million and occasionally rents it out as a filming location.

It is nice that you mention how Hotel Rossinyol should be written properly in Catalan. It's a shame they hide Catalan language during those scenes.

The link to the three chimneys is wrong. They are clearly on a beach, and not in an industrial area.

"The Medellín Gun Club was filmed between Medellín (the tennis club) and Catalonia (the interiors)". The general background view shows tennis courts in Medellín, but the actual tennis court where the match is being played is one of the two courts located next to Hostal de la Gavina in S’Agaró, Catalonia.
