Where was King Arthur: Legend of the Sword Filmed? Filming Locations

Posted by

The classic story of the Arthurian legends was revisited in 2017 from the particular point of view of director Guy Ritchie.

On this occasion, Arthur grew up in the back streets of the city. Unaware of his real background, he pulls out Excalibur and the adventure begins.

Jude Law and Charlie Hunnam

The cast contains some Hollywood celebrities, like Charlie Hunnam as King Arthur, Jude Law as Vortigern, Eric Bana as the father of Arthur, Aidan Gillen (aka Littlefinger from Game of Thrones) as Bill, or Djimon Hounsou as Bedivere.

King Arthur Legend of the Sword was filmed at various locations across England, Wales, and Scotland.

The film was shot in 2015, although it wasn't released until two years later. There are no spoilers ahead:

It's amazing how detailed was the full-scale set of Londinium, inspired in the remains of a Roman pre-London.

The place where Arthur draws the sword from the stone was also recreated in the studios.
